Heure & Repères is an Android app whose purpose is to help a person keep track of their day: it turns a tablet into an always-on screen that shows, in large type, what day it is, what time it is, the next appointment and the medications to take. It is meant to sit on a table or a shelf and answer, without a single tap, the questions someone asks themselves several times a day.

How it works

The person being helped has nothing to set up, and no account to create on their tablet. Everything is prepared from the caregiver's phone.

Set up the screen from your own phone. Install the Aidant app, sign in with your Google account and enter the appointments, the treatments and the person to call — before the tablet is even unpacked.
Send the invitation link. The Aidant app produces a link; text it, or have it scanned from the tablet.
The tablet connects on its own. Opening the link installs the screen app and connects it to your space — nothing to type on the tablet, no account signed in on it. Afterwards, what you change on your phone shows up on the screen within seconds.

What it shows

The day, the moment of day and the time, in the largest type the screen allows;
the next appointment, with a countdown as the departure time approaches;
medication reminders at the times of day set by the caregiver, cleared with a single “Taken ✓”;
a direct-call tile — one tap to call the person set up beforehand;
discreet warnings when the tablet needs plugging in, and a night mode that dims everything after bedtime;
optional spoken announcements for departures and medications.

Who it is for

The app is used by one person and set up by another — a relative or caregiver, who enters the appointments, the treatments and the phone number during a short guided setup. Day to day, the screen needs no interaction: it updates on its own and stays on.

Google account access (optional)

The app works fully without any account: everything is entered in the app and stored on the device. Signing in with Google is optional and serves two independent purposes, each turned on separately in the settings:

Google Calendar — the app reads upcoming events read-only to display the next appointment. Events are read on the device, never modified, and never stored on a server run by the app;
Settings backup — the caregiver's settings (appointments entered in the app, treatments, direct-call contact, preferences) are mirrored to the signed-in Google account, so a new or reset tablet can be set up again in one step. Readable by that account only.

Either purpose can be turned off at any time, independently of the other. Details in the privacy policy.

Availability

Android 6.0 or later, tablet or phone; the layout is designed for a tablet left on a stand. The app is free, ad-free, and currently distributed to a small circle of testers.
